Easy! Clearer, firmer, healthier looking skin.
Unlike the young adults that may be influenced by trending lips or brows on social media. Ladies of a certain age aren’t influenced by those types of treatments. The kind of lady I see in my clinic is usually one who is nearing is going through menopause and just want to rewind time a little.
Did you know that during menopause a woman’s skin will lose around 30% of her collagen? She will also loose fat, elastin and the natural hyaluronic acid present in her skin that keeps it plump and hydrated, all due to the drop in hormones. This affects the skins appearance by the looser skin especially around her cheeks, jawline, and neck.
For many the idea of botulinum toxins and dermal filler are just too scary, (we’ve all seen someone who has taken them too far) and would like an alternative.
In my clinic l offer a treatment called Micro-needling and this is a wonderful and natural anti-ageing treatment that is all about collagen induction therapy.
The goal of the procedure is to kick start your body’s healing process by sending collagen and elastin to patch up the tiny injuries caused by a needling devise forcing your body to make more. Collagen helps fill in and smooth out wrinkles, scarring and firms up the skin
This treatment involves:
- A sterile needling pen that creates thousands of micro channels in the skin that stimulates your own body to repair and regenerate itself.
- Numbing cream is applied for a minimum of 20 minutes
- Procedure takes around 20 minutes per area
- Can be used on neck, chest, abdomen, and scar tissue over 1 year old
- A post procedure serum to use at home
- 24 hours down time without makeup
- Repeated sessions – around 3-6 treatments will be required to see a marked difference – this is because the body takes time to build more collagen.
It isn’t just about plumping up the skin it has some other amazing uses too
- Improves acne scarring, surgical scarring and stretch marks
- Reduces pore size
- Reduces hyperpigmentation even on dark skin
- Hypopigmentation – vitiligo.
- Reduces effects of sun damage
- Hair loss/ alopecia
So if this sounds like a treatment that you would like to learn more about get booked in for a free no obligation consultation over at Taunton Aesthetics on North Street.
I’m here for you when you’re ready.
PRACTIONER
You need to get to know them. Have they got qualifications that state they can do the treatment? And do they have the right medical support if something goes wrong?
It’s scary to think that these “horror’ stories and botched jobs by untrained and uncertified practioners – of which some “claim they are a medical practioner” could have been avoided if the right questions had been asked.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Remember these dermal filler and toxin injections are a medical procedure despite being one associated with the beauty industry and should be done by a medical practioner in case anything should go wrong.
CONSULTATION IS KEY
You should be offered a consultation prior to having a treatment. You should not feel rushed, be long enough for you to ask all your questions, you should feel confident and really reassured. Remember, you don’t have to have a treatment the same day and don’t be pressurised into something that doesn’t sit right with you.
AFTERCARE
This is what makes me me! As a nurse I have an ultimate duty of care to you, you are not my customer – you are my patient. I’m here to support you pre-treatment, and post – even years later if needed.
